Don’t need an all-day camp but want something for the kiddos to do this summer? Keep their minds busy and active by signing them up for one (or several) of the Summer Workshops at the Learning Center at Klondike Academy. These workshops are jam-packed with fun and will teach skills in both creative and scientific subjects.

Classes range from STEM workshops, writing workshops, dance lessons, and more. The Learning Center at Klondike Academy has it all! Classes will be offered each week starting June 3 and ending July 25.

Writing for Screen and Stage with Carli Hemperley

June 3-6

In this class, kids will learn the elements of writing scripts for film and the stage. They will write their own 10-minute one act plays— some of which will even be produced and performed by the students in the drama camp workshop!

Storybook Writing with Kayla Hill

Children are natural storytellers! If your child loves writing and weaving fantastical tales, then they will love this workshop! They will learn about the craft of writing and how to weave a captivating story! They will create their own storybooks by the end of the workshop.

Does your child love to perform? Then sign them up for Drama Camp with Wendi Evetts! Wendi will instruct children on how to act. But they’ll do more than just learn the craft! They will perform three shows written by the students in the Writing for Screen and Stage workshop!

In this workshop, children will learn how to craft compelling tales of mystery! They’ll learn how to write stories with elements of suspense and tension to weave wonderful who-done-it tales and more!

Children from 3 to 12 years old can come and learn ballet essentials during this 10-day workshop. At the end of the workshop, children will put on a performance to show off their new dance skills!

Be sure to bring a laptop for this class! Students will learn how to build websites by going over the basics of different coding styles such as HTML, CSS, and PHP, as well as WordPress and other CSS frameworks.
