Looking for some fun things to do with the family tomorrow to celebrate Independence Day? There are plenty of things to do here in Texarkana and in our surrounding communities. Why don’t you check them out?
Lighting Up the Village
This one’s close to home! Go out to Wake Village’s King Park for a lovely firework show starting at 9 pm.
4th of July Celebration.
Swing by Hardy Memorial Methodist Church at 6203 N Kings Hwy, Texarkana, TX 75503 on July 4th for a fireworks show and kid-friendly activities.
Jefferson Salutes America
It’s a little but of a drive, but you can go to Jefferson, TX for a free firework show, activities for the kiddos, and free music. Festivities start at 5:45.
New Boston Freedom Fest
Another awesome fireworks show with some fun activities for the kiddos. It’s also free, and starts at 6 pm!
Fireworks Over Harbor
Drive out to Mountain Harbor Resort located at 994 Mountain Harbor Rd, Mt Ida, AR 71957 to see a beautiful fireworks display out over Lake Ouachita. This is an all day event with games and treats for kids to enjoy. The big show starts at 9:30, so be prepared to stay a little late. It’s also free!
Lake DeGray Island Festival
Drive on out to Lake DeGray for another fun festival for the whole family! Watch the Freedom 5K Run, a kayak race, water relays, a watermelon eating contest, and lots of delicious food. The event will be topped off with a wonderful fireworks display over the lake starting at dusk.
Independence Day Festival
Down in Shreveport, you can attend the Independence Day Festival on the banks of the red river. Like the other events, this one is free and will have tons of fun activities for the whole family! There will also be live music from local bands, how awesome is that? Festivities start at noon, but the party will be going on until 11 pm. If you don’t want to stay that late, don’t worry. The firework show starts at 9:15 pm.
4th of July Fireworks and Freedom Celebration
Head out to Longview for this celebration! It’s a family friendly event with fun events for the whole family (including your four legged friends). They’re going all out, so you don’t want to miss it! There is free parking and admission for the whole event at the Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Complex.

I see you wrote that one of the events, that included fireworks, was dogs friendly. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS to see fireworks!!! Fireworks are so scary for most dogs, so the 5th of July is the busiest day of the year for animal control and shelters. Please get your furry friend safe by leaving them home and inside your house.
