The Perfect Blend of Fun and education
Don’t need an all-day camp but want something for your kiddos to do this summer?
Keep their minds busy and active by signing them up for one (or several) of the Summer Workshops at the Learning Center at Klondike Academy!
These workshops are jam packed with fun and will either teach or foster skills in both creative and scientific subjects!
Summer Workshops
All workshops are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to
12 p.m. unless otherwise noted below.
Writing for Screen & Stage with Carli
In this class, kids will learn the elements of writing scripts for film and the stage. They will write their own 10-minute one act plays— some of which will even be produced and performed by the students in the drama camp workshop!

Kindergarten Readiness with Sammie
Want to make sure your little ones are ready for kindergarten? Sammie will work with them to make sure they have all the skills they need to excel when they take that big first step into Kindergarten.

Drama Camp with Wendi Evetts
Does your child love to perform? Then sign them up for Drama Camp with Wendi Evetts! Wendi will instruct children on how to act. But they’ll do more than just learn the craft! They will perform three shows written by the students in the Writing for Screen and Stage workshop!

Art Lessons with Georgia Hubnik
In this class, children will learn and explore different mediums of art from drawing, pastels, collage, and painting! They will learn basic principles of art such as texture, shapes, shading, proportion, and more! Lessons will be held at the 1894 Studio downtown!

Ballet with Patti Smith
Children from 3 to 12 years old can come and learn ballet essentials during this 10-day workshop. At the end of the workshop, children will put on a performance to show off their new dance skills!

STEM for Girls with Kayla Hill
Science isn’t just a subject for boys! This STEM workshop is just for girls and will focus on empowering and encouraging them in their pursuit of math and science. In this workshop, girls will participate in hands-on projects involving exciting science experiments and engaging math activities.

Jazz Dance with Patti Smith
Children from 3 to 12 years old can come and learn jazz dancing essentials during this 10-day workshop. At the end of the workshop, children will put on a performance to show off their new dance skills!

Jewelry Making with Melissa Sawyer
Jewelry making is an artistic and extremely fun experience! Melissa Sawyer will teach students how to craft their own jewelry, giving them artisanal skills that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

Children are natural storytellers! If your child loves writing and weaving fantastical tales, then they will love this workshop! They will learn about the craft of writing and how to weave a captivating story! They will create their own storybooks by the end of the workshop.

Kids love robots! In this class, they will learn some simple principles of robotics and even create their own robots to take home at the end of the class!

In this workshop, children will learn how to craft compelling tales of mystery! They’ll learn how to write stories with elements of suspense and tension to weave wonderful who-done-it tales and more!

Website Design with Joe Regan
Be sure to bring a laptop for this class! Students will learn how to build websites by going over the basics of HTML, CSS, and PHP, as well as the popular WordPress content managment solution.

Science doesn’t always have to be serious! This workshop will show children several different fun experiments and teach them about the science that makes them work.

One-on-One Booster Classes (K-12)
Sometimes, children need just need a little boost! They will take tests to examine their strengths and weaknesses, so they can focus on areas where they need the most help. Older children can receive help on SAT and ACT prep and more!
